Fight Everyday Stress!
I’m sure a lot of us are stressed majority of the time. It seems like it’s just a part of life these days. But that’s just the thing, it doesn’t have to be! Stress is not good for our health at all. It makes our heart beat rapidly and our heads race with the worst thoughts possible. Are you struggling with stress?
Here’s 5 Ways to Cope
- Take a deep breath.
It sounds cliché, but it does help. Give yourself five minutes to practice some deep breathing exercises. This will help you to calm down and start thinking rationally.
- You DO NOT have to say yes to everything.
This is advice that I should probably be taking myself. Sometimes work can get demanding, you might have a deadline that you just can’t possibly reach etc. It’s important that you learn how to say no. Talk to your boss/supervisor, tell them how the pressure is affecting you and ask them if you can take a step back. Chances are that they will understand.
- Create BOUNDARIES!
You need boundaries to be able to thrive. If you’re having family time/time with friends, don’t check your phone. Put it on silent or turn it off. Spend some quality time with your family and friends instead without constantly looking at your phone or getting calls from work. This will just stress you out rather than help you relax.
- Exercise for at least 1/2hr a day!
Whether your exercise is lifting weights or taking a walk in nature, it will help you to destress and relax. Moving your body releases endorphins and endorphins release a positive reaction into your body, therefore helping you feel less stress! Nobody ever regrets exercise, it just takes a while to find the motivation (I scroll pinterest for that!)
- Use a planner!
I LOVE using a planner because it helps me to organise my week and know what I’m doing. This helps my stress levels because I know when I have to go to my day job, when I have to work on my blog (I give myself deadlines for my blog) and when I need to take a step back and focus on myself.
Until next time!
