Welcome back to Self Care Monday!
In last weeks edition of #SelfCareMonday I spoke about my morning and night routine. In this weeks edition of #SelfCareMonday I’m going to talk about some tips that have helped me out in the process of loving myself and feeling accomplished in my every day life. Self care is important to live a fulfilled life and I believe these tips will help!
1. Have a declutter session!
Whether it be your bedroom or lounge room, it always helps to declutter! Anyone who has piles of clothing on a chair or an overflowing cupboard can guarantee that the mess will just add to your every day stress. I know this all too well, as I am the worst for clutter! I find that after I clean up, I instantly feel less stressed.
2. Write down some short term goals
I honestly didn’t realise the importance of this until my boyfriend got me to write down some short term goals yesterday afternoon. I already feel like I have a reason to get up in the morning which is something that I have been struggling with for a while now.
3. Write a letter to someone you love
You don’t necessarily even have to share it with them if you don’t want to. Thinking about the people you love and what you love about them brings a sense of joy, and of course, love. And who doesn’t enjoy the feeling of love? It’s a no brainer for me really.
4. Play with your pet or visit an animal shelter
It’s no secret that playing with animals instantly lifts your spirits. When I’m feeling down or just need a quick pick me up, I’ll cuddle my cat and I almost always feel instantly better. Visiting an animal shelter will also help the animals as well as yourself!
5. Turn off your technology for a couple of hours
Social media isn’t always the best for us. Sure, it’s fun sometimes. But there’s a lot of negativity out there! Turn off your social media every once in a while and give yourself some time to relax and focus on other things!
